The length of the quillons is left up to the owner of the weapon with regards to what is comfortable for you, the style of fighting and the type of the weapon. The only requirement is that the ends of the quillons be 5mm in thickness and 10mm in diameter.
The length of the weapon is left up to the individual's discretions with regards to the height and weight of the weapon, the strength to wield it and the reach of the weapon. The only thing that is required is that the weapon is to look like a realistic weapon and to comply with the other safety and weapons standards.
The minimum for armour requirements are:
A decent pair of gloves, preferably leather or welding gloves (available from Bunnings hardware stores for about $9) and inner gloves are optional
Decent enclosed footwear as people's feet may get trodden on in combat.
A plastic groin box for men or similar for females for protection in combat.
Optional Armour allowed is:
A helm
Chainmail, plate or leather armour
Leg armour or other such armour
You can also do many other things to augment your armour, costume and weapons, you only need to ask the other members for help and ideas and almost anything is possible. Any equipment for use in combat will be checked by the fighters of the group for safety before being allowed out on the field.
