President's Report

  • Went to quiz night.
    • The UCC table came 4th.
      • "L statement tbh" - [I2N], who was on the table that one.
  • Uploaded the Cam Hall Quiz subcommittee minutes to Discord and the wiki.
  • Did the poster for the TTS event.
  • Did the advertising for the Azure tech talk and TTS event.
  • Asked people for UCC photos throughout the five decades cause I want to make a slideshow for the ball next year.

Vice President's Report

  • Didn't really do anything since Guild elections
  • Helped Gary with getting data to send to UWAIT about internet being bad

Secretary's Report

  • Fixed minutes upload/titling on website.

Servers

  • Still serving.

Network

  • Packet loss still happening.
  • Test the purple switches to see if they work.

Desktops

  • New CPU for Venice arrived courtesy of Bones.

  • Will reimburse after we get receipt.

  • Cobra is oddly slow, part of it is that it's booting of of an HDD, but not the whole issue.

    • We will get an SSD for it and see how that helps.
    • If not will be on the chopping block.

Misc

New Equipment

  • Soon will have a new CPU.
  • Labels for label maker arrived.

Drinks and Snacks

  • Gary found a new place, 'Campbell's Cash and Carry'.

    • Decent prices on lots of things, if they are on special it's a very good price.
    • Good deals for chocolate and drinks, bowls, noodles.
    • Anyone can make an account with them if they have an ABN.
    • Can't get Coke for under a dollar per can. :sad:

  • We should probably raise our prices.

    • Make it 5c cheaper than other clubs?
    • We need to aim more at selling for decent prices, rather than keeping it at a historical arbitrary price.
    • We are making 5c profit on some things which is not reliable.

  • The vending machine is a service, we don't need to rely on it for profits but we need to keep up with inflation, and computer parts are increasing in price at the same time.

  • [BLU] actions Committee to go on the next food run (if available) to discuss the future of our pricing.

  • SOC meeting Tuesday 26th September 6pm.
  • Planned power outage Monday 9th October 6-7am.

Cameron Hall Quiz Night

  • Total float $305.40.

    • Difference of $133.40.

  • Need to release funds from TriBooking into UCC account.

  • Overall went very good.

  • Liked the minigames.

  • Organisation seems good, not too rushed.

  • People turned up early and has some issues ejecting them.

  • Food provided in the ticket came out really late.

    • Miscommunication between kitchen and manager.
    • Kitchen said food was coming out 6:45, they waited for us to tell them to bring out the food.

  • [I2N], [MCW] & [BRD] leave 19:16.

Azure Tech Talk

  • Was enjoyable.
  • Maybe a touch dry but that's the nature of such topics.
  • Attendance: 7 in person, ~5 online. 12 total.

  • Wednesday 5pm UniGames Discord server ONLINE.
  • UniGames has done the EMP.
  • Advertising is done.
    • UniGames permanent Discord invite on advertising.

Project Night

Tech Talks

  • Enterprise Storage tech Talk 3pm Week 10.
    • Tried to get in contact with other clubs about it, ended up contacting presidents directly.
    • Need to check if we have an EMP.

Tentative/Future Events

  • Week 11 Another LAN? Or VR night.
  • Week 12 Probably nothing. (Chill out week)
