Committee Reports

President's Report

  • Did the EMP and booked the Loft for Artemis LAN as well as the advertising.
  • Went to Project Night.
  • Did the Charity Vigil advertising.

Vice President's Report

  • Attended Project Night.
  • Was present for the Tech Talk but attended on and off.
  • Wrote some possible Constitutional Amendments, which we should talk more about later.
  • We should start writing the Code of Conduct and Code of Conflict Resolution to be adopted as policy.
  • We also need to make Door and Wheel Regulations into Policy (basically a constitutional amendment).

Secretary's Report

  • Nothing to report.

Treasurer's Report

  • Westpac Main $4,830.86

  • Attended project night and the tech talk.

  • Ran account locking scripts for the final time, and emails have been sent out.

    • Forgot that the square form stopped working.
      • Want to die.

Fresher Rep's Report

  • Having account issues.
    • Can't log in to UCC portal.

OCM Reports

    • Went to project night.
    • Went to tech talk.
    • Looked for mousepads.
      • do we have a budget we want per mousepad?
      • sizing: I assume we don't want deskmats?
    • Also branding? If so I'll try get quotes on it.
    • AliExpress doesnt like multi orders but it may be a bug.

Machine Technical Reports

Servers

  • Still looking at buying new disks.

    • Should be able to get disks for many different machines.

  • Looking at mid-range enterprise SSDs for Molmol mainly.

  • Need to buy new SSDs for some of the VM hosts.

  • Look at buying a couple of adaptors. (M.2 adaptors)

Network

  • Still getting random lag spikes.

    • Seems to be from UWA.
      • Need more evidence.
      • Traffic watching in/out of UCC.
      • Test from lab on campus?
      • [GPO] will look into a traffic watching program.

  • Mailing dies for a little.

    • Debian 11 doesn't support Python 2.
    • Need to fix mail if want to upgrade to Debian 11.

Desktops

Misc.

  • The webcam next to the Machine Room has been freezing on and off the past couple weeks.
    • Potentially fixed?
      • Unplug and replug ethernet cable to fix.

New Equipment

  • [NIX] donated an open air/testbench case.
    • [BLU] motions to accept.
    • Unanimous.

Drinks and Snacks

  • Ran out of Salt Red Rock Deli.
  • Running low on Red Rock Deli Chilli.
    • Buy three or four boxes of RRD next time.
  • Running low on Mountain Dew.
    • If anyone finds Mountain Dew for 70c a can or less message [GPO].

External Entities

Mail

  • Mail not checked.

Guild/SOC

  • SOC Meeting.
    • SPG applications due 14th April.
    • Next SLT is 18-19 April.
    • All exec needs SLT.
    • [GPO] will email events to ask if all exec need lvl2.

  • Need new when2meet.

Events

Past Events

VR Night

  • Went very well.

  • More effective at getting everybody involved.

    • Keep talking and Nobody Explodes was very successful.

  • Takelings was popular invloving multiple people.

  • Played Jackbox to involve people.

  • Used [GPO]s headset that didn't need wires, quicker and easier to switch.

  • Get a new headset?

    • Around $700 for an Oculus Quest 2.

Tech Talk: Building the Internet: Part 3

  • Went pretty well.
  • More that could've happened - needed to get set up on new switches,
  • Unclear if will have a Part 5.

Project Night

  • Renewed advertising for this year.
    • [BLU] will make announcement on Discord.
  • New poster.

Tech Talks

  • Should have a Tech talk in the works after current finishes.
    • 3D printing?
      • Maybe early next sem.
    • Intro to UCC/Linux.
      • Next sem.

Charity Vigil

  • Chosen Charity is Freedom Centre. They provide safe place for LGBTQIA+ youth for mental and sexual health.
    • We're just waiting to see if we can use their logo in advertising before we announce the charity.
  • Need to buy $50 worth of prizes.

Artemis LAN

  • EMP, loft booking, and advertising done.
    • EMP has been approved.
  • Unisfa is on board for advertising.

Tentative/Future Events

  • Should start thinking of events to run after Artemis LAN.
  • Jackbox night?
  • Another screening?
  • Another LAN.
  • Minecraft event?
  • Learn to code night?
    • PCS does similar.
    • [I2N] could run it.

OGM

  • Should call one.
  • Call them when constitutional amendments are ready.
