Windsinger prestige class
Requirements:
- Skills: Perform (sing) 4 ranks, knowledge (arcana) 4 ranks
- Feats: Spell focus (enchantment), skill focus (perform)
- Spellcasting 3rd level spells, arcane or divine
- Race: Faenre
Restrictions:
- may not use Silent Spell feat
Abilities:
- Hit dice: d4
- Weapon and Armour Proficiency: Windsingers gain no
proficiency in any weapon or armour. Armour of any type interferes with
a Windsinger's movements, which can cause her spells to fail
(if those spells have somatic components). Note that armour check
penalties for armour heavier than leather apply to the skills Balance,
Climb, Escape Artist, Hide, Jump, Move Silently, Pick Pocket, and
Tumble. Also, Swim checks suffer a 1 penalty for every 5 pounds of
armour and equipment carried.
- Alignment: No restriction
- Spells per Day: Windsinger cast spells, and
continue to study magic as they did before becoming a windsinger. Thus, when a
new Windsinger level is gained, the character gains new
spells per day as if she had also gained a level in the spellcasting
class she belonged to before she added the prestige class. She does not,
however, gain any other benefit a character of that class would have
gained (metamagic or item creation feats, improved chance to use bardic
powers, and so on). This essentially means that she adds the level of
Windsinger to the level of some other spellcasting
class (arcane or not) the character has, then determines spells per day,
caster level and spells known accordingly.
If a character had more than one class capable of casting spells
before she became a Windsinger, she must decide to which
class she adds each level of Windsinger for purposes of determining
spells per day when she adds the new level.

Craft featherchime
Due to her mastery of the art of music and harmony, the windsinger may place
spells into an item of crytal called a featherchime. Only windsinger spells
may be placed into a featherchime, but it otherwise follows the rules for
wands. Note that it is a spell trigger item, and thus can only be used by
windsingers.
Clarity of music (Sp)
The windsinger may summon a clarity, which is identical to an elder air
elemental. This ability allows the windsinger to summon one (as summon
monster IX) or call one (as per greater planar ally) once per week.
This is a spell like ability.
Secret of Song
Pick one.
- Craft greater feather chime:
Similar to Craft featherchime, but this takes the form of a crytal staff. It
can be used as Craft Staff for windsinger spells only. May be taken once only.
- Improved sonic resistance: Improves by 10 points. May be taken multiple
times.
- Free metamagic: Up to three times per day the windsinger may apply a
metamagic feat they already know to a windsinger spell without increasing the
level. May be taken multiple times.
